Are you a parent and want your child to have a 'healthy' relationship with their bodies, food & eating?
If your answer is yes to any of these, you are amongst millions who feel the same way.
We are pressurised and plagued by society that to be happy, healthy, loved and successful we need to look a certain way
We are experiencing more mental and health issues than ever before.
Many factors are influencing this; however, one of the most silent yet destructive is the negative relationship so many have with their bodies, food, and eating.
Why, with all the research and technology at our fingertips, are obesity, disease and mental health issues increasing?
More is not necessarily better, it can be confusing, and there are so many mixed messages about what is good for us, and what is not.
We have become a generation of instant gratification; we are looking for a quick fix, a magic pill. We want a solution to our problem, and we want it now.
The wellness industry & media encourage us to believe that by using the latest medication, product or program all of our problems will be solved.
If this were true, why are there not more people who feel they are living happy and healthy lives?
We believe it is because the focus has been on trying to change the outside and paying little to no attention as to what is happening on the inside.
This “outside-in" (diet and exercise) approach consumes so much of our energy & time and usually comes with a lot of anxiety and suffering. This approach focuses on the physical with little to no awareness of the psychological.
Often resulting in many living frustrated and unfulfilling lives.
The impact on our relationships and health is enormous.
The effects of having any kind of negative relationship with food and or our bodies can impact our; self-worth, confidence, mental state and hence can affect our overall well being, social and academic abilities.
Wellness means “The quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as a result of deliberate effort." Dictionary
Wellness is not just about nutrition and exercise, it is a whole body experience.
How we think & feel, our belief systems, level of stress, our inner story, how much pleasure and nourishment we get; all impact and affect our bodies and our wellbeing.
In a world of ever-changing information, who can we trust?....Ourselves - our own body wisdom
Our relationship with our bodies, food and eating is inherited by our children and future generations.
